17 million people in Delhi. Two delhi's, new from the British rule. Old. Delhi 3000 BC. New is wide streets calmer traffic. Old, narrow streets, mad drivers, bad sewers.
Became capital. 1911
Stopped at the Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, Sikh Temple. Feeds 40,000 people regardless of denomination.
The big brick buildings are the ministry of health.
Thousands of hawks circling, many more than Vadodora. Our guide 'Jesh' tells me people feed them meat as a blessing (hence the numbers. Can't see them catching pidgeons like peregrines, way too big.
Lunch was chikka tikka, pashwari undu, naan, butter chicken, palak paneer, rice. 5 GBP per head. Snake charmer for entertainment.
Rickshaw ride around old Delhi scared us all. Won't do that again. Tour appears to be to certain shops and restaurants. No worries.
Smog scratching my throat, Delhi gets in everywhere.
